The Applied Mechanics Department, established in 1984, runs no diploma of its own. It teaches the mechanics, strength-of-materials, concrete technology and soil mechanics courses of the Diploma in Civil Engineering, and the applied mechanics taught across the first year. The department is headed by Mr. R.J. Patel.
