Prior Art Search

Innovation Cell coordinates a patent search to check for existing patents or publications.

Drafting

Patent agent or in-house faculty prepares the patent draft with claims and drawings.

Filing

Application filed with the Indian Patent Office (IPO) with the institute as applicant.

5

Examination

IPO examines the application; responses to office actions may be needed.

6

Grant

If accepted, the patent is granted and published in the Patent Office Journal.
