About the WDC

The Women Development Cell (WDC) at Government Polytechnic Palanpur works to promote the welfare, safety, and professional growth of women students and staff. The cell organises awareness programmes, support activities, and advocates for policies that make GPP an equitable and safe place for all.

Gender Sensitisation Workshops

Awareness sessions for all students and staff on gender equality, respect, and safe campus environment.

Career Guidance for Women

Dedicated sessions on career opportunities, higher education, and employment pathways for women diploma graduates.

Self-Defence Training

Periodic self-defence training workshops organised in collaboration with local trainers.

Women's Day Celebration

Annual celebration of International Women's Day with talks, cultural events, and recognition of achievers.

Mental Health Support

Coordination with counsellors for mental health support especially for women students facing stress or pressure.

Safe Campus Initiatives

Recommendations to administration on campus safety measures including lighting, transport, and security.
